We are open from 10am to midnight, seven days a week (Monday to Sunday).


Who can visit the PPCC

The Richmond Priority Primary Care Centre (PPCC) provides free urgent treatment for conditions like mild infections and burns, suspected fractures or broken bones.

The PPCC is for when you need urgent attention, but not an emergency response.

How to make an appointment

You can book online on HotDoc. Walk-in appointments are also welcome.

Appointments are free (bulk-billed) for people with or without a Medicare Card.

Frequently Asked Questions

To visit the Priority Primary Care Centre you must:

  • be able to move about on your own
  • have an injury or illness that is suitable for management in a primary care setting
  • require same-day care
  • not be able to see your regular GP that day and would otherwise be going to an Emergency Department.

Call Triple Zero (000) or visit your nearest emergency department if you or someone you know is experiencing an immediate life-threatening emergency.

Priority Primary Care Centre GPs and nurses can give you priority care for
conditions like:

  • Mild to moderate infections
  • Fever
  • Pain when urinating
  • Sprains and suspected minor fractures
  • Back and muscle pain
  • Minor cuts, burns and insect or animal bites
  • Heartburn, vomiting or nausea
  • Headaches, migraines or brief fainting
  • Constipation, diarrhoea or abdominal pain
  • Allergies and rashes
  • Light bleeding in first trimester of pregnancy
  • Mild to moderate asthma attacks, coughs and other breathing difficulties.

Call Triple Zero (000) or visit your nearest emergency department if you or someone you know is experiencing an immediate life-threatening emergency.

If your need is not urgent (such as updating an asthma plan or getting a repeat prescription for regular medication), see your regular doctor.

If you want advice about a minor issue, you can contact Nurse on Call (1300 60 60 24) or talk to a pharmacist.

Yes – A GP and nurse are on site at all times during opening hours.

The Richmond Priority Primary Care Centre is located at Access Health and Community, 283 Church Street Richmond.

The centre is currently on the lower ground floor. Enter via the ramp.

This centre provides services at no cost to you.

Services are available to people with or without a Medicare card.
