Schools

We work with schools to help them achieve their educational and social aims by focusing on their policies, structures and skills

When supportive systems and policies are in place, students and staff are empowered to make the healthiest possible choices. Environments which promote respectful relationships, gender equity and diversity will help young people grow to be happy, healthy adults. Schools are also workplaces for their staff that can practice and model respectful relationships for the benefit of all staff and students.

What we do

We are working with teachers and principals across primary and high schools to improve student health and wellbeing within the curriculum and school community. We do this by:

  • Helping schools to implement Respectful Relationships Education.
  • Connecting staff with clinicians to address any student-related concerns.
  • Taking a whole-of-school approach, identifying opportunities for change with students, teachers and parents.
  • Presentations and workshops for students and parents, and information and resources for school staff around mental health.

We recognise that schools are busy places with limited time and resources. Our team has the time, knowledge, experience and networks to support schools with a tailored approach.

Respectful relationships education

We can assist schools in their whole school approach to the implementation of Respectful Relationships, a program which helps students build healthy relationships, resilience and confidence.

A dedicated Health Promotion Practitioner will be provided to assist schools to:

  • Complete baseline assessments
  • Develop and implement new policies
  • Find and apply for funding opportunities
  • Complete a curriculum audit of texts and materials to examine gender and diversity
  • Plan student voice and parent forums around gender

We also provide direct access for teachers to our team of allied health clinicians who are skilled in helping young people.
