Professor Mike Morgan
Mike is the Dean of the Faculty of Dentistry at the University of Otago in Dunedin, New Zealand. He was previously the Head of the Melbourne Dental School at The University of Melbourne where he was on staff for 30 plus years. He has been involved in dental education and research in Australia, New Zealand and internationally.
Graduating with a dental degree from The University of Otago, Mike is a registered specialist in both Australia and New Zealand with a background in paediatric dentistry, dental public health and epidemiology. His teaching and research interests lie in the causes and prevention of oral disease at a population level and with clinical trials of oral disease preventive agents.
Mike’s university role has involved working closely with Community Health Centres, particularly in relation to student placement and clinical services. Mike has served on several NFP Boards over the past 10 years, primarily related to health and education.
